R/MAME RULES/REGULATIONS REDDIT'S ARCADE COMMUNITY Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. MAME Support Files 0.257 All my support files for MAME 0.257 are now available. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten. Added new sample package 'ktmnt2.zip' The package introduced with the new MAME 0.258 has been added to the 'Samples' page the package was added by hap. MAME’s purpose is to preserve decades of software history. MAME is a multi-purpose emulation framework. versions of each game, if that helps.Questions? Please check out OUR MAME/BYOAC Wiki! How do I know which one to pick? I want U.S. If all you wanted to know was what was added, the whatsnew.txt file gets updated with every MAME release, and 0.258 was no different. Armored war, for example, has all of the below. Bob Zed regularly puts a compilation together shortly after each release, showcasing the new content that was added to MAME since the last release. I'm a bit confused after finding many versions for each rom. So I'm on the archive website, went into the arcade roms, and since I only want a small number of roms I went into "view content" and am finding them individually. I'm trying to go with FBneo, and am in the middle of doing all the crazy dat and clrmamepro setup, but I had a question about the naming conventions for the roms. And that's not directed at you, I realize that that's the answer and I've seen it mentioned elsewhere. So it's unfortunate to hear that it depends on the game, as that doesn't really help me narrow down the choice. I'm less concerned about library size (I'm only looking to play 10-20 pretty mainstream on it, not thousands like some people), and more concerned about game performance (sound, video, input). ![]()
